The 10th International ConFest Graphic Stories invites you on an exciting journey into the world of visual communication. With a rich and innovative program, this significant event reflects the diversity and high quality of artistic and educational activities.

Excitement builds as we announce the participation of eleven exceptional creative contributors in the upcoming 10th International ConFest Graphic Stories. Among the distinguished names are Savvas Chatzichristofis, Stefanos Karagkos, Mane Tatulyan, Agnieszka Ziemiszewska, Christos Nikas, Andreas Appios, Mike Hajimichael, Spiros Drakatos, Vaggelis Gettos, Pericles Cheng, and Panayiota Michael. Their diverse talents and innovative perspectives promise to enrich this milestone edition, offering attendees a unique and inspiring experience in the world of visual communication.

What the program includes:

·       CONFERENCE: Friday 8^th of March: 14:00-21:30 
Bank of Cyprus Cultural Foundation

9 Lectures [in person & live streaming]: Renowned professionals of the creative field will deliver nine lectures exploring current topics that concern us all, such as the potential of artificial intelligence in artistic creation, the impact of mechanization on design, video games, powerful social media presence, and more.

Documentary [in person & live streaming]: Screening of a documentary on visual communication. The Graphic Stories documentary highlights its impact and significance in the world of visual communication, both in Cyprus and globally. Through unique stories of key figures who have left their mark on the conference and the revealing power of the arts, the documentary unveils Graphic Stories' commitment to promoting creativity, innovation, and pushing boundaries in the exciting world of design and technology.

After the documentary screening, there will be a presentation of the "Creative Europe" program by the Creative Europe Desk - Organization of European Programmes and Cultural Relations. The presentation will be conducted by the Planning and Development Coordinator of the Organization of European Programmes and Cultural Relations and Head of National Contact Points for the "Creative Europe" and "CERV" programs, Nenad Bogdanović.

The event will continue with a Networking Reception, aiming to provide the audience with opportunities for the exchange of views, ideas, and relevant information.

International Poster Exhibitions: A retrospective poster exhibition showcasing the best posters from all thematic exhibitions of Graphic Stories to date, and a commemorative poster exhibition with the theme "Destinat10n" featuring selected guest designers.

Interactive Installations: Creation of interactive installations themed "Destinat10n" and celebration of Graphic Stories' 10th anniversary.

Live Performance: Experience an exceptional live performance by the contemporary dance team of the London School of Ballet.

Music Session: A musical experience with reggae beats by the unique DJ HajiMike.

5 Creative Workshops [in person]: Scenario creation for video games by Spiros Drakatos, a specialized workshop on the use of artificial intelligence by Stefanos Karagkos, a human library workshop by Vaggelis Gettos, and workshops for children: an experience in virtual and augmented reality [AR/VR] by Pericles Cheng, and illustration themed "Destinat10n" by Panayiota Michael.

The Overall Framework: The Graphic Stories ConFest will take place from March 8 to 10, 2024, with lectures, specialized workshops, and parallel activities. Exhibitions and interactive installations will last for a month. The events will be held at the Cultural Foundation of the Bank of Cyprus, the ground floor of the "Politis" newspaper, and STEM Education Cyprus, all located in Nicosia.

Combining innovation, new technologies, knowledge, and creativity, the 10th ConFest Graphic Stories promises an unforgettable experience that transcends the boundaries of visual communication.

Η ενθουσιασμός αυξάνεται καθώς ανακοινώνουμε τη συμμετοχή έντεκα εξαιρετικών δημιουργών στο επερχόμενο 10ο Διεθνές Συνέδριο-Φεστιβάλ Graphic Stories. 9 Διαλέξεις [δια ζώσης & live streaming]: Οι ομιλητές μας θα εμβαθύνουν σε θέματα επίκαιρα που απασχολούν όλους μας, όπως: ο προβληματισμός για τις μετασχηματιστικές δυνατότητες της τεχνητής νοημοσύνης στην καλλιτεχνική δημιουργία, οι επιπτώσεις της μηχανοποίησης στον σχεδιασμό, τα video games, δυνατή προβολή στα social media, κ.ά..
 
Ντοκιμαντέρ [δια ζώσης & live streaming]: Προβολή ντοκιμαντέρ για την οπτική επικοινωνία. Το ντοκιμαντέρ για το Graphic Stories αναδεικνύει την επίδραση και τη σημασία του, στον κόσμο της οπτικής επικοινωνίας, τόσο της Κύπρου, αλλά και παγκόσμια. Μέσα από πρωτότυπες ιστορίες σημαντικών ανθρώπων του χώρου που άφησαν το στίγμα τους στο συνέδριο και την αναδεικνύουσα δύναμη των τέχνων, το ντοκιμαντέρ αποκαλύπτει τη δέσμευση του Graphic Stories στην προώθηση της δημιουργικότητας, της καινοτομίας και της αναζήτησης νέων ορίων στον συναρπαστικό κόσμο του design και της τεχνολογίας.

Μετά την προβολή του ντοκιμαντέρ, θα ακολουθήσει η παρουσίαση του προγράμματος "Creative Europe - Δημιουργική Ευρώπη", από το Γραφείο «Δημιουργική Ευρώπη» Κύπρου - Οργανισμός Ευρωπαϊκών Προγραμμάτων και Πολιτιστικών Σχέσεων. Την παρουσίαση του προγράμματος θα κάνει ο Συντονιστής Επιχειρησιακού Προγραμματισμού του Οργανισμού Ευρωπαϊκών Προγραμμάτων και Πολιτιστικών Σχέσεων και Επικεφαλής Εθνικών Σημείων Επαφής για τα προγράμματα "Δημιουργική Ευρώπη" και "CERV", Νέναντ Μπογκντάνοβιτς.

Η συνέχεια της εκδήλωσης περιλαμβάνει Δεξίωση Δικτύωσης, με στόχο να προσφέρει στο κοινό ευκαιρίες για ανταλλαγή απόψεων, ιδεών καθώς και σχετικών πληροφοριών.

 

·       ΦΕΣΤΙΒΑΛ & ΕΚΘΕΣΗ ΑΦΙΣΩΝ: Σάββατο 9 Μαρτίου: 18:00-21:00

Διαδραστικές Εγκαταστάσεις: Δημιουργία διαδραστικών εγκαταστάσεων με θέμα "Destinat10n" και εορτασμός της 10ετούς επετείου του Graphic Stories.
 
Live Performance: Ζήστε μια εξαιρετική ζωντανή παράσταση από τη σύγχρονη ομάδα χορού του London School of Ballet.
 
Music Session: Μια μουσική εμπειρία σε ήχους reggae από το μοναδικό DJ HajiMike.

Διεθνείς Εκθέσεις Αφισών: Αναδρομική έκθεση αφισών, με τις καλύτερες αφίσες όλων των θεματικών εκθέσεων του Graphic Stories μέχρι σήμερα και επετειακή έκθεση αφισών, με θέμα "Destinat10n", από εκλεκτούς καλεσμένους σχεδιαστές.

5 Δημιουργικά Εργαστήρια [δια ζώσης]: Σενάρια για video games – από τον Σπύρο Δρακάτο, εξειδικευμένο εργαστήριο χρήσης τεχνητής νοημοσύνης – από τον Στέφανο Καράγκο, human library– από τον Βαγγέλη Γέττο & workshops για παιδιά: εμπειρία στην εικονική και επαυξημένη πραγματικότητα [AR/VR] – από τον Περικλή Τσέγνκ και εικονογράφηση με θέμα τον «Προορισμό» - από την Παναγιώτα Μιχαήλ.

Το Γενικό Πλαίσιο: Το Graphic Stories ConFest θα πραγματοποιηθεί από τις 8 έως και τις 10 Μαρτίου 2024, με διαλέξεις, εξειδικευμένα εργαστήρια, και παράλληλες δράσεις, ενώ οι εκθέσεις και οι διαδραστικές εγκαταστάσεις θα διαρκέσουν ένα μήνα. Οι δραστηριότητες θα πραγματοποιηθούν στο Πολιτιστικό Ίδρυμα της Τράπεζας Κύπρου, στο ισόγειο της εφημερίδας "Πολίτης" και στο STEM Education Cyprus, στη Λευκωσία.
 
Συνδυάζοντας καινοτομία, νέες τεχνολογίες, γνώση και δημιουργικότητα, το 10ο ConFest Graphic Stories υπόσχεται μια αξέχαστη εμπειρία που ξεπερνά τα όρια της οπτικής επικοινωνίας.
