Cyprus Present at the Founding Conference of the World Industrial Design Association in Shanghai

Η Κύπρος παρούσα στην Ιδρυτική Διάσκεψη της Παγκόσμιας Ένωσης Βιομηχανικού Σχεδιασμού (WIDA) στη Σαγκάη

Η Κύπρος θα εκπροσωπηθεί στη Σαγκάη, από τις 16 έως τις 19 Απριλίου 2026, στην Ιδρυτική Διάσκεψη της World Industrial Design Association (WIDA), ενός νέου διεθνούς, μη κερδοσκοπικού οργανισμού, του οποίου η πρώτη ομάδα συνιδρυτικών μελών καλύπτει 15 χώρες. 

Την Κύπρο θα εκπροσωπήσουν η Αγγελική Αθανασιάδη, Ιδρύτρια και Καλλιτεχνική Διευθύντρια του Graphic Stories Cyprus, Λέκτορας στο American University of Cyprus και στο Alexander College, καθώς και Συνιδρυτικό μέλος της World Industrial Design Association (WIDA), και ο Μιλτιάδης Καρράς, Καθηγητής Φυσικής και Ρομποτικής, Γενικός Συντονιστής του Graphic Stories Cyprus και Συνιδρυτικό μέλος της World Industrial Design Association (WIDA).

Η συμμετοχή τους ενισχύει την παρουσία της Κύπρου σε έναν σημαντικό νέο διεθνή θεσμό, ο οποίος φέρνει σε διάλογο εκπροσώπους του σχεδιασμού, της εκπαίδευσης, της καινοτομίας και της βιομηχανίας από όλο τον κόσμο. Η διοργάνωση περιλαμβάνει, μεταξύ άλλων, την Πρώτη Γενική Συνέλευση της Ένωσης, συναντήσεις για τη θεσμική και αναπτυξιακή της συγκρότηση, καθώς και το International Forum on Industrial Design Innovation, αναδεικνύοντας τον ρόλο του σχεδιασμού ως εργαλείου διεθνούς συνεργασίας, προόδου και βιώσιμης ανάπτυξης. 

Παράλληλα, η παρουσία τους αναδεικνύει και τη διεθνή παρουσία του Graphic Stories Cyprus, ενώ συμβάλλει ευρύτερα στην προβολή του ελληνικού και κυπριακού δημιουργικού χώρου μέσα από τη συμμετοχή τους σε έναν νέο παγκόσμιο θεσμό με επίκεντρο τον σχεδιασμό, την καινοτομία και τη δημιουργική ανταλλαγή γνώσης.

Cyprus Present at the Founding Conference of the World Industrial Design Association in Shanghai

Cyprus will be represented in Shanghai from 16 to 19 April 2026 at the Founding Conference of the World Industrial Design Association (WIDA), a new international non-profit organisation whose first group of founding members covers 15 countries. 

Cyprus will be represented by Angeliki Athanasiadi, Founder and Creative Director of Graphic Stories Cyprus, Lecturer at the American University of Cyprus and Alexander College, and Founding Member of the World Industrial Design Association (WIDA), and Miltiades Karras, Physics and Robotics Educator, General Coordinator of Graphic Stories Cyprus, and Founding Member of the World Industrial Design Association (WIDA).

Their participation strengthens Cyprus’ presence in an important new international institution that brings together representatives from design, education, innovation and industry from around the world. The programme includes, among other events, the First General Assembly of the Association, meetings focused on its institutional and developmental framework, as well as the International Forum on Industrial Design Innovation, highlighting the role of design as a tool for international cooperation, progress and sustainable development. 

At the same time, their presence also highlights the international profile of Graphic Stories Cyprus and contributes more broadly to the visibility of the Greek and Cypriot creative community through their participation in a new global institution centred on design, innovation and the creative exchange of knowledge.
